What is 360° feedback?
360° assessments allow individuals who work with the person being assessed to give anonymous feedback on specific behaviors.
In typical organizations (if they’re lucky) employees receive regular performance feedback from their managers. However manager feedback is only one perspective. With 360° feedback the “full-circle” group of people that an individual works with provide their unique perspectives on the individual’s behavior. This “full-circle” can include their managers (s), peers, direct reports, customers – as well as a self-assessment completed by the employee.
Everyone’s feedback is compiled into one cohesive report, enabling participants to clearly compare how they view their own performance against the views of others. The results are then analyzed with the help of a performance coach. Together the coach and the employee develop an action plan including development activities and measureable outcomes.
